Saratoga began as a mere frontier town, Saratoga has blossomed into a residential community with over 30,000 people. Located west of San Jose in Santa Clara County, it’s a quaint city that trades the high-tech feel of neighboring towns with small-town charm in the mountains and redwoods.

While Saratoga isn’t home to many tech companies, it is home to multiple renowned wineries. If wine and music sound like the perfect pairing, you’ll love the Mountain Winery, which hosts live outdoor music during its summer concert series. The winery has featured such A-list artists as Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Stevie Wonder, Santana, Tony Bennett, and The Beach Boys.

You can enjoy art shows and beautiful gardens at Montalvo Arts Center. Or you can experience Japanese history and heritage at the beautiful Hakone Estate and Gardens.

You’ll also find boutique shops and cafes in a very walkable downtown known as the Saratoga Village. Trees line the neighborhoods and streets, with some pockets lacking sidewalks, contributing to the unincorporated feel of the sleepy town. Easy access to the mountains, hiking trails, and parks makes it perfect for families who value outdoor recreation.

The city boasts some of the nation’s best schools (Saratoga High School consistently ranks in the top 100 public high schools in the US) and offers various recreational programs that include seniors and youth programming.

You’ll find some original, single-family, ranch-style homes here, and you’ll also find brand new multi-thousand-square-foot custom builds. If you ever tire of enjoying the peaceful mountain views, you’re less than an hour from all the excitement San Francisco has to offer.
